Crimson Planks Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft crimson planks with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, crimson planks is a new item that was introduced in the Nether Update. Crimson planks and warped planks are basically the Nether’s version of wood planks. What makes crimson planks so unique (compared to Overworld planks such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak) is that crimson planks and items made out of crimson planks can not be destroyed by fire. However, this also means that you can not use crimson planks as fuel in a furnace.

When you make crimson planks, the crafting process will create 4 crimson planks at a time.

How to craft Crimson Planks in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid that looks like this:

Crimson Planks - Wiki Guide 6

2. Add Items to make Crimson Planks

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make crimson planks, you will need to place specific items in the grid. It is important that the items are placed in the exact pattern as our example images. Changing the pattern of boxes that are filled will change the item that is crafted.

There are 2 patterns you can use as a crafting recipe for crimson planks:

Pattern 1

In the first row, there should be 1 crimson stem in the first box.

Crimson Planks - Wiki Guide 7

Pattern 2

In the first row, there should be 1 stripped crimson stem in the first box.

Crimson Planks - Wiki Guide 8

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the pattern, the crimson planks will appear in the box to the right.
