Conquest of the Sun Resource Pack is a shaderpack so it needs the Shadersmod to run!
As this shaderpack is optimized with the Conquest Resource Pack in mind it is entirely possible that there are unwanted optical complications when useing a different resourcepack with it.
The basecode of the shader is taken from the Chocapic Shaders and modified heavily so in terms of performance and further tips visit his downloadpage as it is described in more detail there.
