This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a brown bed with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, a brown bed is a new color of bed introduced in the game. You can sleep in a brown bed at night to avoid mobs spawning and attacking you. Also once you’ve slept in this type of bed, it resets your spawn point. There is more than one way to craft a brown bed.

How to craft a Brown Bed in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Brown Bed

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make a brown bed, you will need to place specific items in the grid. It is important that the items are placed in the exact pattern as our example images. Changing the pattern of boxes that are filled will change the item that is crafted.

There are 2 patterns you can use as a crafting recipe for a brown bed:

Pattern 1

There should be 3 brown wool in the first row and 3 wood planks in the second row.

Pattern 2

In the first row, there should be 1 white bed in the first box and 1 brown dye in the second box.

TIP: When crafting a brown bed with wood planks, you can use any kind of wood planks, such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, crimson, or warped planks. In our example, we are using oak planks.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the brown bed will appear in the box to the right.
