Blast Furnace Wiki Guide

This Minecraft tutorial explains how to craft a blast furnace with screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

In Minecraft, the blast furnace is another important item in your inventory. A blast furnace is used to smelt items in the game, similar to a furnace. However, a blast furnace smelts twice as fast as a furnace! A blast furnace can be found in a Village in the Armorer’s house.

How to craft a Blast Furnace in Survival Mode

1. Open the Crafting Menu

First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid that looks like this:

2. Add Items to make a Blast Furnace

In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make a blast furnace, place 5 iron ingot, 1 furnace and 3 smooth stone in the 3×3 crafting grid.

When making a blast furnace, it is important that the iron ingot, furnace and smooth stone are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. In the first row, there should be 3 iron ingot. In the second row, there should be 1 iron ingot in the first box, 1 furnace in the second box, and 1 iron ingot in the third box. In the third row, there should be 3 smooth stone. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a blast furnace.

Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the blast furnace will appear in the box to the right.
