What is a Sheaf Decorated Pot?
The Sheaf Decorated Pot is a decorative block added in Minecraft 1.20. It’s a brown pottery item with a distinctive sheaf (bundle of wheat) design on one side. You can place these pots around your base to add detail and personality to your builds.
The cool part? Decorated Pots are fully customizable. You can swap out any of the four pottery sherd sides to create your own unique designs. Mix and match different sherd patterns to make something totally original.
Materials You Need
To craft a Sheaf Decorated Pot, you only need one material:
- 4x Sheaf Pottery Sherds
If you want to customize it, you can also use other pottery sherds or bricks for the remaining sides.
Crafting Recipe
Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table
Grab a crafting table and open it. You’ll see a 3×3 grid ready for crafting.
Step 2: Place the Pottery Sherds
Arrange your 4 Sheaf Pottery Sherds in a diamond pattern:
- Row 1: One sherd in the middle slot
- Row 2: One sherd on the left, one on the right
- Row 3: One sherd in the middle slot
This creates the classic cross/diamond pattern needed for decorated pots.
Pro tip: You don’t have to use all Sheaf sherds. Replace any of them with different pottery sherds or bricks to create custom designs. For example, you could make a pot with one sheaf side and three different patterns.
Step 3: Grab Your Pot
Once you’ve placed the sherds correctly, the Sheaf Decorated Pot appears in the output slot. Click it to move it to your inventory.
Version Compatibility
Sheaf Decorated Pots are available in Minecraft 1.20 and all later versions. If you’re playing on an older version, you won’t have access to this item.
What to Do With It
Decorated pots are purely decorative. Use them to:
- Add detail to interior designs
- Create custom pottery displays
- Match your build’s aesthetic
- Decorate gardens and pathways
Since they don’t have any functional use, the main thing is getting creative with the customization. Mix different sherds to match your build style.
