Working Sailboat Data Pack (1.18.1, 1.17.1)

Tired of basic boats? This data pack replaces them with working sailboats. If you spend time on the water, you know regular boats are painfully slow. The sailboat gives you a proper vessel with actual storage, so you can haul your stuff across the ocean without juggling items.

Drop a spruce boat, spruce plank, and spruce log on the ground in the right pattern, and you get a full-sized sailboat. It’s huge compared to vanilla boats, and it actually looks like something you’d sail in. Plus there’s a storage chest built right into it.

Quick Setup

1. Download the data pack file for your Minecraft version
2. Open your world folder (.minecraft/saves/yourworld)
3. Paste the file into the datapacks folder
4. Load your world and run /reload in chat

Compatibility

This data pack works with vanilla Minecraft. No mods required. It works on multiplayer servers and single-player worlds. Keep in mind that other data packs might conflict if they also modify boats or crafting recipes.

How to Use

To spawn a sailboat, gather these materials:

• 1 Spruce Boat
• 1 Spruce Plank
• 1 Spruce Log

Drop them on the ground in the correct pattern and the sailboat will appear. You control it like a regular boat. The sailboat has a storage chest for your items, so you can take your stuff with you across the ocean.

Watch out though, the sailboat isn’t indestructible. Get it hit too many times and it breaks apart. Treat it with care if you’re making a long voyage.
