Catenary Data Pack Overview

Want ropes that actually hang realistically? The Catenary Data Pack adds proper physics to your rope structures in Minecraft. Instead of rigid lines, ropes now sag and curve the way they should, giving your builds way more visual depth.

You place catenary anchors using custom Firework Rocket items. The neat part is you can set anchor points off the block grid, so you’re not stuck to right angles. Want a rope that angles from the corner of one block to the middle of another? You can do that.

Installation

Installing data packs in Minecraft is straightforward:

1. Download the version that matches your Minecraft game version
2. Open your Minecraft folder and navigate to the saves folder
3. Go into your world folder and find the datapacks folder (create it if it doesn’t exist)
4. Drop the downloaded .zip file into that folder. Don’t unzip it
5. Load your world and enable the data pack via the /datapack command or the world settings
