RocketBoots Plugin for Bukkit 1.18.2 & 1.17.1

RocketBoots Plugin

RocketBoots takes regular armor boots and gives them special abilities. Equip different boot types to fly, hover, launch other players, and have fun with rocket-powered movement. It’s a solid plugin for adding extra gameplay options to your server.

Boot Types

Flight Boots

Gold Boots: Fast flight boots. Put them on, hold shift and look up to take off. You get good speed and solid control while flying. Great for long-distance travel and general flying around.

Diamond Boots: Hover boots. Tap shift repeatedly to hover in place. These are the easiest to control and let you float at a slower pace. Perfect for building or just observing from the sky.

Launching Boots

Leather Boots: Right click any player or animal while wearing these and they get launched into the air. Fun for pranks, though they’ll take damage when they land.

Iron Boots: Tap shift to knock everyone around you flying away. Good for clearing space or messing with your friends. You can restrict this to animals only with permissions if needed.

Fun Boots

Chainmail Boots: Extremely fast flight boots. They work like gold boots but at way higher speed. When you crash back down to earth, a massive lightning strike hits where you land. Chaotic and fun.

Special Features

Feather Pause

While flying in gold, diamond, or chainmail boots, hold a feather in your main hand and right click to stop mid-air. A temporary glass block appears under you to stand on. The block doesn’t stick around when you walk off it or reconnect, so no cleanup needed.

How to Use

Gold and Chainmail Boots: Hold shift, look up a bit, and move forward. You’ll take off and fly.

Diamond Boots: Tap shift repeatedly to hover and float around.

Leather Boots: Right click a player or animal to launch them.

Iron Boots: Tap shift to knock nearby entities flying away from you.

Commands

You don’t need any commands. Just equip the boots and play. There’s one optional command if players want to toggle boots on/off: /rocketboots on|off

Permissions

If your server uses a permissions plugin, you can control access with these nodes:

• rocketboots.* – Full access to everything
• rocketboots.boots.* – Use all boot types
• rocketboots.boots.gold – Gold boots only
• rocketboots.boots.diamond – Diamond boots only
• rocketboots.boots.leather – Leather boots only
• rocketboots.boots.iron – Iron boots only
• rocketboots.boots.chainmail – Chainmail boots only
• rocketboots.launchPlayers – Allow launching other players (without this, only animals get launched)
• rocketboots.feather – Use the feather to pause mid-air
• rocketboots.bypassFallDamage – Don’t take fall damage even if enabled on the server
• rocketboots.bypassBootsDamage – Boots won’t break or degrade when landing

Without a permissions plugin, only server ops can use RocketBoots.

Configuration

RocketBoots creates a config file the first time it runs. You can tweak boot speeds, control whether players can toggle boots on/off for themselves, and set up flight kick prevention for servers with flight disabled. The config file has comments explaining each option.

Installation

1. Download the plugin file matching your server version below
2. Place the .jar file in your server’s plugins directory
3. Start or restart your server
4. The plugin loads automatically and creates a default config
5. Adjust config settings if needed and restart again
6. Equip boots and fly

Version Compatibility

RocketBoots is available for Bukkit 1.12, and all versions from Bukkit 1.14 through 1.18.2. Download the version that matches your server.
