Booze Mod | Craft Beer & Wine | Minecraft 1.5-1.6

Brew beer and wine in Minecraft with the Booze Mod. Grow grapes and hops, craft equipment, and ferment your creations. Download for 1.5.2 to 1.6.4.

Booze Mod adds a complete brewing system to Minecraft. Craft beer and wine from scratch, starting with growing crops and ending with bottled drinks. You’ll need grapes for wine and hops for beer, plus some basic gear to ferment and age everything. It’s way more involved than just finding a bucket, but that’s the fun part.

What You Can Make

The mod lets you brew two main drinks: wine and beer. Wine is faster to make and requires less setup. Beer is more complex but gives you options like Irish stout and Scotch heather ale. Both end up in glass bottles you can keep, trade, or just look at in your inventory.

Wine Brewing

Start with a barrel (crafted from 7 wood planks in a U-shape). Fill it with water, add 12 grapes and yeast, and wait for fermentation. The barrel holds 5 buckets of liquid, and the water plus grape juice makes red wine. Transfer it to a carboy (made from 7 glass blocks) for secondary fermentation, then bottle it into 64 glass bottles per carboy.

Beer Brewing

Beer takes more steps: sprout, roast, mash, boil, and ferment. You start with wheat, soak it to make wet grain, then spread it on wooden planks to sprout. Roast the sprouts in a furnace to get malted grain. Mash that in a barrel with water, transfer to a brew pot, add hops (or dandelion for ale), and boil. Then ferment in a barrel and carboy just like wine.

You get four beer styles: normal beer, ale, Irish stout (uses dark malted grain), and Scotch heather ale (uses heather instead of hops).

Crops and Materials

You’ll need to grow grapes on grape vines and hops on hop vines. Grapes generate naturally on grass where they can climb, and they spread horizontally along walls. Hops only grow straight up and need soil conditions to thrive. Heather only grows in Extreme Hills biomes but you can harvest and replant it.

Equipment you’ll craft:

  • Barrel: 7 wood planks (central to everything)
  • Carboy: 7 glass blocks (for aging and bottling)
  • Brew pot: 5 iron ingots and 2 cobblestone blocks
