Enhanced Farming Mod is a revival of the classic “Better Farming” mod by iBlackShadow. If you remember the old mod, this brings back all the same content in updated versions. It adds a whole bunch of new crops and fruit trees to expand your farming options and make your farms way more interesting.
Fruit Trees
Plant fruit trees on dirt or grass blocks and watch them grow through 6 stages. Once fully grown, they’ll drop fruit over time without needing to replant. Trees spawn naturally in their matching biomes, so you can find seeds in the world.
Forest Trees: Apple, Lemon, Orange, Cherry, Pear, Avocado, and Mango trees grow in non-cold forests.
Savanna Trees: Olive trees spawn in savanna biomes.
Jungle Trees: Banana trees grow in jungle biomes.
Crops
The mod adds 11 new crops you can plant on farmland. Each crop has its own growth stages and drops when fully grown.
- Aubergine – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Corn – 8 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Cucumber – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Garlic – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Grapes – 6 growth stages, grows on crop-sticks
- Lettuce – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Mint – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Nether Flower – 6 growth stages, only on Soul Sand, drops blaze powder
- Onion – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Pineapple – 6 growth stages, plantable on farmland
- Tomato – 7 growth stages, plantable on farmland
Crop-sticks
Some crops like grapes need crop-sticks for support. Plant crop-sticks on farmland first, then plant the crop on top.
Tools and Features
Rakes
Rakes work like hoes but are used on grass. When you use a rake on grass, it turns into dirt and has a chance to drop seeds from both vanilla Minecraft and the mod. Better rakes give better seed drop rates.
Scarecrow
Place a scarecrow to keep animals away. It affects an 11×11 area (5 blocks in each direction from the center), so use it to protect your crops and farms from mobs.
Configuration Options
You can customize how the mod works by editing the config file:
- bonemealGrow – Enable or disable bone meal on mod plants
- enableRake – Turn rakes on or off (seeds drop from grass if disabled)
- Food stats – Adjust how much hunger each food item restores
- cropToSeeds – Disable conversion of crops to seeds
- netherGen – Turn Nether flower generation on or off
- oldLeaveDecay – Use old mod leaf decay (leaves have 1/3 chance to become normal leaves that don’t drop fruit)
- rakeDrops – Customize what drops from raking grass
- tooHot – Make hot drinks damage you if held too long
- treeDropRate – Adjust fruit drop frequency (default 20, higher number means lower chance)
- treeGen – Enable or disable tree generation in the world

You need Minecraft Forge installed for your Minecraft version. Enhanced Farming works on Forge for all supported versions.
