What is the Birch Forest?

The Birch Forest is an Overworld biome covered in grass and dominated by tall birch trees. These trees have distinctive white bark and small leaves. The biome receives average rainfall like most Overworld biomes. It’s a great place to gather wood, find bees, and spot wildlife.

Trees

Birch trees fill this biome. They grow tall and straight with white bark and small leaves. You’ll get plenty of birch logs and saplings for building and crafting. Birch wood is useful for construction and furniture.

Flowers and Vegetation

The ground is packed with grass and wildflowers. Common plants in the Birch Forest include:

  • Dandelions
  • Poppies
  • Lilacs
  • Rose Bushes
  • Lily of the Valley

Blocks and Underground Resources

On the surface, you’ll find grass blocks and bee nests in the birch trees. Dig below the surface to find standard Minecraft ores like stone, coal, iron, gold, diamond, redstone, and copper ore.

Passive Mobs

These mobs spawn peacefully during the day in the Birch Forest:

  • Cows
  • Sheep
  • Pigs
  • Chickens
  • Bees

Hostile Mobs at Night

After dark, the usual Overworld hostile mobs spawn here:

  • Creepers
  • Endermen
  • Skeletons
  • Spiders
  • Witches
  • Zombies
