World Downloader Mod 1.19.4 & 1.18.2 | Backup Worlds

World Downloader Mod lets you save and backup your favorite Minecraft server worlds for singleplayer play. Whether you want to preserve a world you’ve built on a server or back up your progress, this mod handles the downloading and saving automatically.

What World Downloader Does

The mod works by intercepting network traffic between your client and the server, then reading and saving chunk data. Instead of losing access to your builds when you leave a server, you can download the entire world and play it in singleplayer mode. It’s useful for backing up creations, exploring servers offline, or extending your render distance with previously downloaded chunks.

How to Use

Mircokroon’s Version

Download the latest release and run it. Enter the server address in the address field and click start. Instead of connecting to the server directly, connect to localhost in Minecraft to begin downloading. Adjust settings in the other tabs as needed.

Pokechu22’s Version

Join a server, pause the game, and select “Download this world”. Pick the right multiworld mode if the server has worlds beyond the standard Overworld, Nether, and End. Travel around the world and let chunks load. The mod only saves chunks you can see, so move around to load the parts you want. Open chests and containers to save their contents. When you’re done, pause and click “Stop downloading”, then wait for the notification in chat before disconnecting.

What Gets Saved

Automatically

• Terrain and landscape
• Entities and mobs
• Signs, banners, and most tile entities
• Your inventory, position, and gamemode
• Server spawn point

You Need to Do This Manually

• Chest and container contents (open them during download)
• Villager trades (interact with villagers to record their offers)
• Server seed (enter manually, or use /seed if you’re op)

Not Saved

• Your bed respawn location
• Other players
• Jukebox contents

Important Notes

• Open chests and containers before you stop the download
• You only save chunks the server sends to you as you move. If you don’t move, only about 10 chunks (160 blocks) in each direction will be saved
• The seed doesn’t save automatically. You need op permissions to use /seed for automatic capture
• Wait for the chat notification before disconnecting when you stop
• Some entities like fireworks can freeze your client during download (known issue)
