How to Use Enchantments

In Education Edition, you enchant items with the /enchant command. The basic syntax is simple:

/enchant [player] [enchantment] [level]

Here’s a real example that applies Blast Protection level 4 to the player holding the item:

/enchant @s blast_protection 4

You can also enchant items for other players by replacing @s with their username. The enchantment name is the ID name (the lowercase version in the table below), and the level is a number from 1 up to the max level for that enchantment.

Understanding the Table

Enchantment and ID Name: The display name is what you see in-game. The ID name in italics is what you type in the /enchant command.

Max Level: How high you can level that enchantment. Roman numerals are used (I, II, III, IV, V).

What It Does: A quick description of the effect.

ID #: The numeric ID if you need it for other commands or datapacks.

Added: The Education Edition version where this enchantment was introduced.

Common Enchanting Tips

You can stack protection enchantments for better defense. Fire Protection and Blast Protection both work on the same armor, so you can have both at once.

Curse enchantments (Binding and Vanishing) are usually not worth using. They have negative effects and are mainly for challenge maps or pranks.

Tools have different enchantments available. You can’t put Sharpness on a pickaxe, only on weapons. Check the item type before trying to enchant.
