This pack replaces the grey parrot texture with a pigeon. It’s a small, focused change and it fits the game well, especially if you’re building city areas or just want birds that look a bit more grounded. Setup is quick and the whole thing runs at 16x so there’s no performance hit.
What It Does
Grey parrots in vanilla Minecraft get replaced with pigeons. To trigger the pigeon texture, rename your parrot with a name tag. Three variants are available:
- pigeon – standard grey pigeon
- white pigeon / dove – white variant
- rock pigeon – the classic street bird look
They still act like parrots. Sit on your shoulder, follow you around, mimic nearby mobs. The only thing that changes is what they look like. You can have all three variants in the same world at once by naming different parrots accordingly.
Requirements
OptiFine is required. The pack relies on OptiFine’s custom entity texture system to swap the parrot model. Without it, the textures won’t load.
