Can I actually play Russian Roulette with this mod?

Yes. Load one round into the S&W Model 10 revolver, open the cylinder, spin it with Shift + Scroll, close it, and fire. Because every step of loading and firing is manual, the mechanics are there to make it work.

Do I really have to manually reload every time I fire?

Yes, that's the whole point. The mod is based on the game Receiver, which is known for making you handle every step of gun operation yourself. There's no single-key reload. You eject, insert rounds, cycle the action, and check the chamber by hand.

How do I craft bullets?

You need the Bullet Crafter block. Combine Casings, Redstone, Gunpowder, and Iron in it. The number of bullets you get from a single craft depends on which type of casing you use.

Does Receiver Gun Mod work with other mods?

Generally yes. There are no widely reported conflicts. If you're running a large modpack with other weapon mods, test it first, but for most setups it should be fine.

Which version of Forge do I need?

Receiver Gun Mod is based on the PC game Receiver, which is famous for making you handle every single step of loading and firing a gun. That same idea is now in Minecraft 1.12.2. No “press R to reload” button. You pull the bolt back, eject casings, feed rounds one at a time, and check the chamber yourself. The S&W Model 10 revolver even lets you spin the cylinder, so yes, Russian Roulette is actually possible.

Six guns are in right now, with more planned. Each one controls differently and takes a minute to learn. That’s kind of the point.

Colt 1911 / Glock 17 / Thompson M1A1

R – Pull back slide / remove bullet from clip
T – Slide lock (hold T then R to check chamber; hold R, hold T, release R, release T to lock slide back; press R or T to release)
G – Remove clip
Z – Insert clip / add bullet to clip
F – Swap main hand and off hand (use this to swap gun with clip)
V – Toggle full auto / semi auto (Glock 17 and Thompson M1A1 only)

G – Lift bolt up / push bolt down
R – Pull bolt back / push bolt forward
Z – Insert bullet

Remington 870 Shotgun

G – Enter shell loading mode
R – Chamber next shell
Z – Insert shell
