Tough as Bedrock transforms Minecraft survival into a real challenge. Forget just managing hunger. Now you’ve got to deal with thirst, temperature, and stamina too. It’s not for casual players, but if you want hardcore survival, this addon is exactly what you need.
Main Features
Thirst System
Watch a new thirst bar above your hunger meter. It drains constantly, faster when you sprint or jump. Working in hot areas or extreme temperatures makes it drain even quicker.
Let thirst get too low and you’ll slow down. Hit zero and you take damage. Drinking water from rivers and lakes refills your thirst but gives you an effect and risks parasites. The more dirty water you drink, the worse it gets.
Your best option is purifying water. Boil it in a furnace, use filters and ghast tears for potions, or collect rainwater which is much safer. There’s also a water purifier block that works like a furnace but runs on charcoal as fuel.
Quick tip: when using a cauldron with items, place a block behind it and click the block instead of the cauldron itself. This is a Minecraft quirk we can’t get around.
Temperature System
You’ll see a temperature meter above your level. You get 5 minutes of immunity when you first spawn, then the environment actually affects you.
Gray means your body temperature is balanced. Blue means you’re getting cold (too cold and you freeze to death). Red means you’re heating up (too hot and you die from heat).
Protect yourself with the right armor. Volcano Armor keeps you warm in cold biomes, Winter Armor in hot ones. Ice Resistance and Fire Resistance potions also work. Eating ice cubes can cool you down fast.
Use blocks like coils and campfires to adjust the temperature around you. Power coils with redstone or they won’t activate. A thermometer block tells you roughly what the environment is like so you know what gear to wear.
There’s also an artifact that grants immunity to extreme temperatures. You’ll find it in underground structures or desert ruins.
Stamina (Optional)
Enable stamina in settings to make the game even harder. A stamina bar sits above thirst and drains as you do physical activities. Completely drain it and you slow down, then start taking damage.
Stamina refills over time, faster when you’re resting.
How to Install
Turn on Experimental Gameplay in your world settings first.
Download both the behavior pack and resource pack from the links below. Import the .mcpack files into Minecraft and activate them in your world settings.
Adjusting Difficulty
Think thirst drains too fast? Use /function settings to change how the addon plays. You can adjust difficulty for each system or disable features you don’t want.
