Does this mod need to be installed on the server?

No. It's fully client-side. You can use it on any server, vanilla or modded, without anyone else installing anything.

What's the difference between quick stack and restock?

Quick stack moves items from your inventory into containers that already hold matching items. Restock does the reverse, pulling from containers to fill up partial stacks in your inventory.

How do I stop an item from being quick stacked into a chest?

Hold Left Alt and right-click the item in your inventory to favorite it. Favorited items are skipped by quick stack. Just keep in mind the favorite status clears when you remove the item from your inventory.

Can I control which containers it scans for nearby operations?

Yes. Open the config screen with Left Ctrl + S + C and you can set exactly which container types are included in nearby quick stack and restock operations.

Does this work on modded servers or servers that don't have the mod installed?

Yes. Because it's client-side only, it works on any server. The mod just reads what containers are nearby on your end and moves items accordingly.

Stack to Nearby Chests Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.4) | Quick Stacking

If you’ve played Terraria, you know how nice it is to dump your inventory into nearby chests with a single keypress. This mod brings that exact system to Minecraft. It’s client-side only, so you can use it on any server without touching server configs.

Features

Quick Stack

Open a chest and hit the quick stack button. Any items you’re carrying that already exist in that chest get moved over automatically. No more manually dragging stacks to figure out where things belong.

Restock

The reverse of quick stack. If your stacks are running low, restock pulls from the open container to top them back off. Handy after a long mining run when you need to refill torches, food, or whatever you use up fast.

Quick Stack and Restock to Nearby Containers

This is where it gets genuinely useful. Both operations can run on all openable containers within reach at once, not just the one in front of you. Trigger it from the player inventory screen, or bind a key and use it without opening any screen at all. Default targets are chests, trapped chests, barrels, shulker boxes, and ender chests. All configurable.

You can also quick stack all items of a single type to nearby containers by dragging them onto the quick stack button, or using a shortcut key.

Favorite Items

Hold Left Alt and right-click any item in your inventory to favorite it. Favorited items get skipped by quick stack so your best tools and gear won’t end up in a chest by accident. You can separately control whether favorites can be thrown with Q, picked up, quick-moved, or swapped. Items lose their favorite status when removed from your inventory, and the whole system is disabled in creative mode.

Config Screen

Press Left Ctrl + S + C to open the mod options. You can adjust appearance, behavior, excluded items, and all key bindings from there.

How to Install

Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version if you haven’t already.
Download Fabric API and drop the .jar into your mods folder.
Download the mod file for your version from the links below.
