The Totem of Undying is one of the most useful items in the game, but having to hold it in your hand to actually get the death protection is a constant annoyance. This mod fixes that. It uses the Curios API to add a dedicated Charm slot to your inventory where you can slot the totem and forget about it. Once it’s in there, it works exactly the same as holding it.
What It Does
Drop a Totem of Undying into the Charm slot and you’re covered. You still get the full death protection without keeping it in your hand or burning a hotbar slot on it. To equip it, either drag the totem into the Charm slot in your inventory or right-click with the totem held in hand and it slots in automatically.
That’s really the whole mod. It’s a small quality-of-life fix that makes the totem actually usable in normal play, especially on harder survival or hardcore worlds where one careless moment is the end of everything. This one’s genuinely worth installing.
Requirements

- Curios API
How to Install
- Install Minecraft Forge or Fabric for your Minecraft version.
- Download the Curios API and place it in your mods folder.
- Download Curio of Undying from the links below and place it in your
.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch Minecraft with the correct loader profile and load up a world.
