What mods do I need before installing Thermaloot?

You need Minecraft Forge or NeoForge, plus CoFH Core, Thermal Expansion, and Thermal Foundation. Without those dependencies installed, the mod won't load.

Does Thermaloot add new chests or change existing ones?

It modifies existing loot tables, so the capacitors show up in chests you'd normally find while exploring. No new chest types are added to the world.

Are the capacitors the same every time, or actually random?

They're procedurally generated with randomized names and stats, so you'll rarely get the same one twice. That's the whole point of the mod.

Can I use Thermaloot in a modpack?

Yes, it works fine in modpacks as long as the required Thermal mods are also included. It's a small, focused mod and doesn't tend to cause conflicts.

What are augment stats and why do they matter?

Augments are items in the Thermal series that slot into machines to change how they perform. Thermaloot generates capacitors with different augment bonuses, so some will be more useful than others depending on which machines you're running.

Thermaloot adds randomly generated, procedurally named capacitors to loot chests across your Minecraft world. If you play with the Thermal series of mods, this one fills a gap you didn’t know you had. Each capacitor rolls different augment stats, so cracking open a chest actually means something.

What Thermaloot Does

The mod hooks into existing loot tables and drops custom capacitors into chests you find while exploring. Every capacitor has a unique name and a randomized set of augment stats. Some boost machine speed, some improve efficiency, and some extend the range of devices like the Vacuumulator. You won’t get the same one twice.

It also lets you amplify potion effects emitted by the Decorative Defuser, which adds a bit more depth if you’re using that device regularly. The setup is straightforward and it plays nicely alongside other mods.
