The Akashic Tome is a single inventory item that holds every mod documentation book you own. Instead of carrying a Lexica Botania, a Patchouli guide, and three other mod manuals, you carry one tome. Craft it with a Book and a Bookshelf, then start stuffing books into it. It’s based on Morph-o-Tool, but for documentation instead of wrenches.
How It Works
You combine books into the tome at a crafting table. When you need one, right-click to open the picker and select it. The tome doesn’t simulate the book, it actually transforms into the real item with full functionality. Left-click the air to switch back.
Shift right-clicking while looking at a mod’s block will automatically switch to that mod’s documentation book, if you have one stored. If you have multiple books from the same mod, it picks the first one you added. If no book is present for that mod, it falls back to a wiki lookup using Botania’s wiki API.
Full Feature List
- Add books by combining them with the tome in a crafting table. No limit on how many, duplicates included.
- Right-click to open a picker and select any stored book. Left-click the air to morph back.
- Shift right-click a block to auto-switch to that mod’s book.
- To remove a stored book: morph into it, then press Q while sneaking. The book drops out; the tome stays in your inventory with everything else intact.
- Right-clicking a block with no associated book opens a wiki page via Botania’s wiki lookup API, defaulting to the FTB wiki.
- Since you get the real item, you can technically use stored books in crafting. Don’t. You’ll lose the tome and every book inside it.
Configuration
The config file gives you a fair amount of control:
- An option to allow any item to be stored, not just documentation books. Off by default.
- A mod blacklist to exclude specific mods.
- A name whitelist for item names that should be attachable (book, tome, lexicon, etc.).
- A specific item whitelist for anything that doesn’t match the name filters.
- An alias list to redirect one mod to another. For example, RFTools Dimensions blocks can pull the Smart Wrench from RFTools. Thermal Dynamics redirects to Thermal Expansion by default.
Crafting Recipes
Install Just Enough Items (Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (Fabric) to view the crafting recipe in-game.

How to Install
- Download and install Minecraft Forge or Fabric for your Minecraft version.
- Download the Akashic Tome mod file for your version from the links below.
- Drop the .jar file into your
.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch Minecraft. The mod should appear in the mods list on the title screen.
