Do the parasite mobs burn in sunlight?

No. Unlike zombies and skeletons, all parasites are active day and night. That alone makes them considerably more dangerous than most hostile mobs in vanilla Minecraft.

Will parasites attack zombies and other hostile mobs?

Yes, they attack other hostile mobs on sight, not just players. Don't expect vanilla enemies to pull aggro and help you out in a fight.

Do I need all three addons?

No, they're all optional. The base mod runs fine on its own. The Combat addon adds nest loot runs, the Survival addon adds gear and food, and the Nests addon adds world structures. Pick whichever fits your playthrough.

What happens when the Rathol explodes?

It releases Emana (flying, poison-shooting) and Lodo (ground-based) minions. Those minions are immune to poison, so don't waste poison weapons or potions on them.

Do I need anything other than Minecraft Forge to run this mod?

Just Forge for 1.12.2. Drop the mod jar in your mods folder and launch with the Forge profile. No extra library mods required.

Scape and Run: Parasites Mod (1.12.2) for Minecraft

Scape and Run: Parasites adds a full faction of hostile parasite mobs to Minecraft 1.12.2. These things are tougher than anything in vanilla, they don’t burn in daylight, and they’ll fight other hostile mobs too. Your world gets a lot more dangerous with this installed.

Parasite Mobs

Shyco

A big, Iron Golem-sized brawler with a massive health pool. It can throw you into the air, meaning fall damage on top of its regular hits. Takes a while to bring down.

Dorpa

A large spider that fires web balls at its target. The webs stop you from running, which turns what should be a straightforward fight into something much messier.

Rathol

Slow, heavy, and loaded with HP. At some point it explodes spontaneously to release minions that are immune to poison. Basically a boss mob that spawns more problems when you finally get it low.

Emana

Flying minion spawned by the Rathol. Shoots poison projectiles. A real nuisance when you’re already dealing with the main fight.

Lodo

Ground minion also spawned by the Rathol. Fast and aggressive.

Infected Human

Humans taken over by a parasite. They hunt alongside other parasite mobs and actively try to kidnap living creatures to convert them into other forms. One of the creepier designs in the mod.

Canra and Hull

Two more parasite creatures rounding out the roster, with more planned for future updates.

None of the parasites have the usual daylight weakness, and they’ll attack zombies, skeletons, and other hostile mobs on sight. Don’t count on vanilla mobs to thin them out for you.

Optional Addons

Three addons are available that build on the base mod. All are optional but worth considering depending on how deep you want to go with the parasite theme.

Combat Addon

Parasite nests spawn across the world. Loot them for useful items, but they’re guarded, so it’s not a free grab.

Survival Addon

The biggest of the three. Adds new food (dangerous to eat), weapons, armor, building blocks, and Buglin Hives that grow buglins you can harvest. Fully grown buglins can escape and raid your base if you leave them too long. There are also new advancements to track progression.

Nests Addon

Adds parasite structures to world generation. Parasite Nests show up in most biomes (except desert and ocean), guarded by mobs that won’t despawn and protecting eggs that drop loot when broken. There’s also a giant Flesh Worm hidden in grassy pits across plains and forests. You can go inside the worm to free swallowed creatures and grab loot. Its teeth are the only thing that can mine worm flesh, and they’re useful for crafting weapons and a special pickaxe.

How to Install

Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.12.2.
Download the mod file from the link below.
Open your .minecraft folder and go into the mods folder. Create it if it doesn’t exist.
Drop the downloaded .jar file into the mods folder.
Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile and you’re good to go.
