Taiga Additions Addon brings a bunch of new life to the Taiga biome in Minecraft Bedrock. You get new mobs like wolves, bears, deer, and moose that actually behave like real animals. There are also cool structures to explore like castles and cabins. If you love the Taiga and want more to do there, this addon is worth checking out.
What’s New in Taiga Additions
New Mobs
Wolves
Black and gray wolves spawn in the Taiga. They work just like vanilla wolves – neutral, can be tamed with bones, and they’ll defend themselves if you mess with them.
Bears
Two types roam the Taiga now. Grizzly bears are aggressive hunters with a strong bite, while black bears are weaker and more cautious. Both will attack if you get too close.
Deer
Male deer are neutral and fight other males. Females are peaceful. You can breed them with wheat, and babies spawn randomly as either sex.
Moose
Similar to deer but bigger and more impressive. Males are neutral and territorial, females are passive. Great to spot while exploring.
Squirrels
Small critters that scurry around on Taiga tree leaves. Mostly just adds life to the biome right now.
Beavers
These guys swim near lakes and seas in the Taiga. They’re cute but watch out – eagles hunt them for food.
Bald Eagles
Eagles fly around hunting fish, rabbits, and beavers. There’s a rare golden eagle variant that spawns when lightning hits a regular eagle. Good luck spotting it though, since they don’t stay still for long.
Taiga Explorer
A new villager NPC that sells Taiga-specific items like saplings and acorns.
Moss Golem
Small guardians that spawn on moss blocks and protect the biome from hostile mobs.
Dangerous Creatures
Watch out for carnivorous trees – they look like normal trees but have acid in their mouths that can kill mobs instantly. Podzol beetles also swarm in groups and are aggressive, though moss golems take them down in one hit.
Structures to Explore
The addon adds five main structures scattered throughout the Taiga:
- Villager Castle – A fortress loaded with loot and villagers, protected by two iron golems
- Illager Castle – Heavily defended with pillagers, ravagers, and vindicators. Contains valuable loot and two totems of undying
- Ruined Castle – A decaying castle with some supplies still inside
- Wood Cabin – A solid survival house perfect for raiding furniture and resources
- Camping Site – A nice campfire spot to set up base, though bears might visit
You’ll also find Taiga trees with new colors spread throughout the biome.
