SkyIsland Map for Minecraft 1.20.2 & 1.19.4
PenguinS64’s SkyIsland map is a fresh take on Skyblock. Instead of grinding on a single island, you get seven different islands to explore. Each one has its own biome and animals. Start on one and work your way across Taiga Island, Savanna Island, Jungle Island, Birch Island, Mushroom Island, Dark Oak Island, and End Island. The Nether is still there for the usual farming and grinding.
What’s Included
This map builds on the classic Skyblock formula with some variety. The seven islands each have their own feel. Taiga has snow and coniferous trees. Jungle is dense and dangerous. Savanna is open and hot. Mushroom Island is weird and useful. Each island spawns different animals, so you won’t get bored looking for specific mobs.
If you want the typical Nether challenge, it’s there. Same dangerous setup as vanilla. But most of your time will be spent hopping between the islands, farming, building, and expanding your base.
How to Install
- Download the map file from the link below
- Extract the ZIP file (if it downloads as ZIP)
- Find your Minecraft saves folder (.minecraft/saves on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves on Mac, ~/.minecraft/saves on Linux)
- Drag the map folder into your saves directory
- Open Minecraft, go to Single Player, and load the world

Version Compatibility
This map works with Minecraft 1.20.2, 1.20.1, and 1.19.4. Don’t try running it on older versions. Maps are pretty version-specific, and you might run into issues if the versions don’t match. If you’re playing on a multiplayer server, make sure everyone is on the same version as the map.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play this on a server with friends?
Yeah, upload the map folder to your server’s world directory. Everyone needs to be on the same Minecraft version though, otherwise you’ll run into weird bugs.
Do I need mods to play this map?
Nope. This is a vanilla map. It works with plain Minecraft. If you want to add mods on top of it, that’s up to you, but it’s not required.
What if the map won’t load or I’m stuck?
Make sure you’re on the right Minecraft version. Check that you extracted the file properly and placed the folder in the correct saves directory. If it’s still broken, try redownloading it.
