BetterLeads Mod Overview
BetterLeads is a simple Fabric mod that removes one of Minecraft’s most annoying limitations: you can finally use leads on hostile mobs. Normally, leads only work on passive animals like sheep and horses. With this mod, you can rope up zombies, creepers, skeletons, and just about any other hostile creature you encounter. Drag them where you want them. Build traps. Lock them down. Tame the chaos.
Keep in mind that leashing a hostile mob won’t stop it from attacking you. A tied-up zombie is still a zombie. So play it safe and either leash them from a distance or get them secured to a fence before they explode in your face.

Capture Hostile Mobs
Use leads on any mob, including creepers, zombies, spiders, and endermen. No more running away when you want to study or transport dangerous creatures.
Lead to Fences
Tie mobs to fence posts to keep them contained. Perfect for mob farms, traps, or just keeping your base secure.
Works With Most Mods
BetterLeads plays nicely with other mods. Just check for any rare incompatibilities in your modpack.
Requirements
You need two things for this mod to work:
Installation
If you’ve installed Fabric mods before, this is the same process:
- Download Fabric Modloader if you don’t have it
- Download Fabric API
- Download the BetterLeads mod file
- Drop all three into your .minecraft/mods folder
- Launch and play
