Shadow World Mod 1.7.10 adds a dark new dimension with tons of content. You get two epic bosses to fight, over 100 new items, more than 30 new mobs (hostile and friendly), and a completely different world to explore. The best part? It doesn’t touch your overworld at all.
What You Get
New Dark Dimension
Enter a creepy new dimension through a custom portal. It’s dark, dangerous, and full of stuff to find. Nothing like the overworld.
Two Bosses
Two powerful bosses are waiting for you in Shadow World. Bring good gear and potions if you want to survive.
100+ Items and 30+ Mobs
Tons of new items to craft and use. Over 30 new creatures roaming around, some hostile and some friendly. There’s a lot to figure out yourself.
Diary System
When you first spawn in Shadow World, you’ll get a diary. As you progress, it fills with entries that give you hints and show you what to craft next. You unlock entries by crafting items, picking things up, or just exploring. Use the bookmarks to organize everything by blocks, items, entities, and more.
How to Build the Portal
Getting to Shadow World takes a few steps:
- Create a new world and select “Shadow World” as the world type
- Build a portal frame out of Lapis Lazuli blocks
- Craft a Shadow Lighter and use it to activate the portal
- Step through and start exploring
Playing on hard difficulty? The portal might generate broken in Shadow World. Just build your own and you’re good.
Brightness Command
Can’t see anything in the Shadow World? Type /shadowworldbrightness true in chat to brighten things up. Type /shadowworldbrightness false to turn it back to normal. You need operator permission to use this command. Good for recording YouTube videos too if you need better lighting.
What You Need
This mod requires Minecraft Forge. You’ll need to install Forge first, then drop the mod into your mods folder.
