Multishot Mod 1.12.2 & 1.11.2 – Auto Screenshot Timelapse

Automatically take screenshots for timelapses. Multishot Mod features multiple motion modes, zoom, and works while Minecraft is minimized.

Multishot Mod is a tool for creating timelapses and stop-motion videos in Minecraft. Instead of recording hours of gameplay and spending forever speeding it up, this mod takes screenshots automatically at whatever interval you want. You can then turn those screenshots into a smooth video.

The mod works even when Minecraft is minimized, so you can leave it running and do other stuff. It’s basically like an intervalometer for a real camera, but for Minecraft.

What Can It Do

The core feature is automatic screenshot taking at a preset interval (1 second is a good starting point). You get to choose the image format (PNG for quality, JPG to save space) and where to save them.

On top of that, Multishot includes automatic motion features. You can set the camera to move in a straight line, circle around a point, or follow a path you create. This lets you get cinematic camera movements in your timelapses without manually moving your character.

There’s also basic zoom functionality if you need it.

How to Use Multishot

Basic Setup

First, open the Multishot menu (default key: K) and configure your settings:

  • Interval – Time between screenshots. 1.0 second is a good default. Don’t go below 0.5 seconds unless your computer is fast.
  • Image Format – PNG keeps full quality but uses more space. JPG saves space but looks worse at lower quality settings.
  • Save Location – Where your screenshots go. You can paste the path directly.
  • Auto-stop Settings – Choose how the recording ends (manual, after X screenshots, after X real time, or after X video time).

Make sure to toggle Multishot Enabled and Motion Enabled to ON. This turns on the hotkeys (it doesn’t start recording automatically). Turn on Lock Controls too so you don’t accidentally change the camera while recording.

Starting a Recording

Press M (default) to start/stop taking screenshots. If you want automatic motion, press N (default) to start motion mode first, and it’ll begin taking screenshots too if you have an interval set.

You can pause with P (default) and continue where you left off. Press H (default) to hide the on-screen GUI if it’s getting in your shots.

Motion Modes

Linear – Camera moves steadily along X, Y, and Z axes with optional rotation.

Circle – Camera orbits around a center point. Set the center with HOME + P (default), set where the camera looks with END + P (default).

Path – Create a custom path by pressing P at each point you want to mark. The camera will move between them smoothly. You can add, remove, or insert points along the way.

Tips and Tricks

Use PNG format if you have the disk space. It’s lossless and looks way better than compressed JPG.

If you’re running two Minecraft instances on the same computer (one for the camera, one for your character), press F3 + P to keep the game running when it loses focus. This lets you alt+tab without the game pausing.

Plan out your camera path first if you’re using path mode. The smoother your path, the better the final video.
