Tool Progression Mod lets you control exactly what tools can harvest what blocks in Minecraft. Want to make certain ores only mineable with higher tier pickaxes? This mod makes it happen. You can set harvest levels for every tool and every block, perfect for modpack creators who want to design a real progression system.
What the Mod Does
By default, Minecraft has fixed harvest levels baked into blocks and tools. Redstone ore needs a mining level 2 pickaxe, glowstone drops with your bare hands, and so on. Tool Progression Mod lets you override all of that. Every block can require a specific tool class and harvest level. Every tool can have its own classification and level.
Need a paxel that works as a pickaxe, axe, and shovel all in one? You can do that. Want to make diamond tools level 3 and force players to get them before mining obsidian? Done. This is exactly what modpack makers need when designing progression.
Harvest Level Display
The mod adds a Waila and Hwyla plugin so players see what tools they need to harvest a block. Hover over stone and it tells you what mining level pickaxe is required. This prevents frustration from trying to mine something with the wrong tool.
Pickaxes also display their mining level in the tooltip so players always know what gear they have.
