Eldritch Empires is a tower defense mod that turns your base defense into an active challenge. Set up collectors to harvest magic essence from portals while fending off increasingly difficult waves of creatures.
How the Collector Works
Start by crafting a collector and place it down. Right click to turn it on and off. When you activate it, a portal opens in a random nearby location. Magic essence starts flowing from the portal to your collector, but you need a clear path for it to work properly. Look for subtle sparkles in the air as the essence travels. When it reaches the collector, it turns into condensed magic essence.
Those condensed essence items are the core of everything else in the mod. Use them to build defensive golems, craft items, or combine 9 together to get a diamond.
Combat and Enemies
Here’s the catch: creatures spawn from the portal and they want to destroy your collector. You have two main enemy types to worry about.
Zoblins
They come in four varieties. Regular Zoblins are basic fodder, but Zoblin Bombers are dangerous and fast to explode, so take them out quickly. Zoblin Warriors hit harder, and the Zoblin Boss is the tough one. Watch out for those bombers especially, as their explosions can wreck your collector.
Rabid Dwarfs
Three standard types here: the regular Rabid Dwarfs, Dwarf Miners with pickaxes that destroy blocks, and Dwarf Warriors. The real threat is the Dwarven Demolitionist boss, which throws bombs. Kill it fast before it explodes.
Setting Up Your Defenses
You’ll want to craft defensive golem spawners to protect your collector. There are several types you can build: Stone Archer Spawners, Stone Warrior Spawners, and Stone Mage Spawners. Each one spawns a defensive golem to fight off invaders.
Golems take a bit to spawn at first, and if one dies, another will spawn to replace it after a short wait. They stick around as long as their spawner block is intact.
Upgrading Your Golems
Use the golem wand to upgrade your defensive spawners. Hold it and right click on the spawner block itself (not the golem) to see upgrade options.
Upgrade costs:
Level 1: 5 experience levels
Level 2: 10 experience levels plus 1 condensed magic essence
Level 3: 15 experience levels plus 2 condensed magic essences
