Will my worlds work in this snapshot?

Maybe. Snapshots can have breaking changes. Always back up your world files before testing a new snapshot. You can usually move worlds back to the release version if something breaks.

What is the Blaze 3D rendering engine?

It's a rewrite of Minecraft's rendering system. It doesn't change visuals in this snapshot, but it's the foundation for future graphics improvements. Think of it as the engine getting rebuilt to be faster and more capable.

Can I use this snapshot on a server?

Yes, there's a server jar available. Use the server download above. All players connecting must also use the same snapshot version.

What happened to the texture changes?

Mostly backend improvements. Chests got remapped, banners now use transparency properly, and the enchanted glint texture was tweaked to look better. Nothing huge visually, but cleaner underneath.

Chat Components

NBT Chat Component: You can now use NBT storage in chat and text components with the syntax {"nbt":"", "storage":""}. This works with commands like /data merge storage for more flexible command block setups.

Texture Changes

Chest textures got remapped
Banner patterns now use the alpha channel instead of brightness values
Ender dragon wings don’t have a separate bottom texture anymore
Enchanted item glint texture was adjusted to match in-game appearance
