I Wanna Skate Mod brings skateboarding to Minecraft. Craft your own skateboard, learn tricks, hunt down Skater Skeletons for loot, and equip your board with powerful enchantments. It’s like having a whole new way to get around and mess with mobs.
What You Can Do
The real depth in this mod comes from skateboard enchantments. There are over 10 unique ones you can add to your boards, plus all the standard Minecraft enchantments like Unbreaking. Mix and match them to create the skateboard that matches your style.
Skateboard Enchantments
- Aerial I-IV: Boosts your ollie and kickflip airtime so you can catch bigger air.
- Bashing I-IV: Smack mobs harder with your skateboard and deal damage when you hit them while skating.
- Benthic: Take your skateboard underwater. Can’t use this with Surfing.
- Clambering: Automatically climb up single-block heights without losing speed.
- Earthcrosser: Skate over dirt, grass, and other soft blocks without slowing down.
- Hardwood: Your board won’t take damage from fire, cactus, or other environmental hazards.
- Inertial I-III: Keep your momentum longer before you slow down.
- Instant Return: When you jump off, your skateboard goes straight into your inventory.
- Onboarding: Mobs that walk over your board will start skating with you.
- Pedalling I-II: Faster pedaling means quicker acceleration.
- Secured: Reduces fall damage and stops you from falling off your board.
- Sidewinder I-II: Turn and pivot left and right faster.
- Surfing: Glide over water like it’s a solid surface. Can’t use this with Benthic.
Getting Started
First thing you need is a skateboard. You can build one from any wooden planks (including modded wood), iron, and skateboard wheels. The wheels only drop from Skater Skeletons, so you’ll have to hunt them down.
Skater Skeletons are tough mobs that spawn on blocks you can skate on, like stone or concrete. They’re about as common as witches. They’ve ditched their bows for powerful skateboards and chase you down hard, bashing you with it repeatedly. They drop skateboard wheels, helmets, and if you’re lucky, their own skateboard. During certain times of year they also drop holiday-themed wheels.
Once you have the materials, assemble your first skateboard. If you want to see all the crafting recipes, install Just Enough Items (Forge) or Roughly Enough Items (Fabric). You can also craft a guidebook called Skating Made Simple for a quick reference.
