Remember when Mojang turned all entities into flat 2D sprites on April Fool’s Day 2019? It looked ridiculous and everyone loved it. Flatter Entities Mod brings that same flat, paper-thin look to your survival world whenever you want.
With this mod installed, every mob gets rendered as a 2D sprite. Zombies, creepers, cows, pigs, all of them become cardboard cutouts. It’s a visual overhaul that’s equal parts hilarious and weirdly nostalgic. The mod includes a config file so you can pick and choose which mobs go flat and which dimensions get the effect.
What Does Flatter Entities Do?
This mod changes how Minecraft renders entities. Instead of the normal 3D models, everything appears as a flat 2D sprite. It’s not a replacement texture pack or shader. It’s a core visual change that affects all entities in your game.
Features
- All mobs render as 2D sprites
- Flattened models apply to every living entity
- Config file to whitelist or blacklist specific mobs
- Control which dimensions use the flat effect

Configuration
The mod comes with a built-in config file. You can edit it to customize which mobs and dimensions get the flat treatment. Want only zombies to be flat? You can do that. Want the effect only in the Nether? Set it up in the config.
Find the config file in your .minecraft/config folder after you run the mod at least once.
Compatibility
Flatter Entities works with most other mods. It doesn’t touch mob AI, health, or behavior, so there’s no conflict with mods that change those things. Just make sure your mod loader is updated and check the mod description if you hit any issues.
