Want to stand out in Minecraft? Visual Capes Addon lets you equip custom capes in Bedrock 1.20 and 1.19. Switch between different cape designs instantly using commands, and each cape comes with a matching Elytra texture. It’s an easy way to customize your look without touching your skin.
Features
Equip Capes with Commands
Use simple commands to switch capes on the fly. You can apply them to yourself or other players. No file editing needed. Just run a command and you’re done.
Use either the /event or /function command to equip a cape. If applying to players with spaces in their name, wrap it in quotes like “Moon Light”.
Built-in Cape Styles
The addon includes a bunch of options to choose from:
- Mojang Capes
- MINECON Capes
- Personal Capes
- Other Capes
- Custom Capes
Matching Elytra Textures
Each cape comes with its own Elytra texture that matches. When you equip a cape, your Elytra changes too. It’s a nice detail that makes the whole look feel coordinated.
Remove Capes Anytime
Changed your mind? Run the remove command and your cape is gone. Works on yourself or other players.
How to Install
Download either the .mcaddon or .zip file below. For .mcaddon files, just tap or click it and it imports directly into Minecraft. If you’re using the zip, extract it and move the folder to your resource packs location. Then activate it in your world settings.

Version Compatibility
This addon works on all Bedrock Edition platforms: Windows 10, iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Built for Minecraft 1.20 and 1.19.
Important Notes
- Character skins will revert to default skins (Steve or Alex) when using this addon. This is a Minecraft bug, not an addon issue.
- Using this addon disables achievements in survival mode. If you want capes in survival without losing achievements, use a resource pack instead.
- Incompatible with packs that use Player JSON files, utility packs, cosmetics packs, or packs that modify cape and Elytra rendering.
- If you’re on Minecraft 1.19.50 or later and want to use Spectator Mode, enable “Spectator Mode Enabled” in the pack settings.
