Lost Fauna Addon drops 10 species of Brazilian dinosaurs into your world. These creatures are extinct, so they won’t spawn naturally. Instead, you hunt down fossils, extract their DNA, and bring them back to life. It’s like playing paleontologist meets mad scientist. The addon includes realistic animations, detailed textures, and teaches you about actual dinosaur species that roamed Brazil thousands of years ago.
How to Get Dinosaurs
Finding Fossils
Dig through caves and look for sedimentary rocks. They’re darker than regular stone and really stand out. Mine them and you’ll get fossils, bones, or plant fossils. Collect as many as you can because you’ll need them for everything else.
The Machines
Lost Fauna adds 5 special machines. They work like crafting tables but handle the actual DNA extraction and dinosaur creation.
DNA Extractor
Craft it with an iron block, glass block, and bone. Throw fossils in here to get DNA samples. One fossil equals one DNA sample.
DNA Sequencer
Made from iron block, glass block, and water bottle. Takes 3 DNA samples and turns them into an embryo. This is how you clone your dinosaur.
Embryonic Machine
Iron block, glass block, chicken egg. Takes the embryo from the sequencer and combines it with a chicken egg to create a dinosaur egg that will eventually hatch.
Plant Cultivator
Iron block, glass block, dirt block. Want to bring back prehistoric plants? Dump 3 DNA samples in here and grow them. Purely decorative right now, but plants will have more uses later.
3D Printer
Iron block, glass block, ink sac. Analyzes fossils and prints their complete skeleton. Put a fossil and bone inside and you get a full dino skeleton for display.

Small Carnivores: Ubirajara Jubatus, Ypupiara Lopai, Gnathovorax Cabreirai
Small Herbivores: Berthasaura Leopoldinae, Unaysaurus Tolentinoi
Medium Carnivores: Spectrovenator Ragei, Irritator Challengeri
Medium Herbivore: Ibirania Parva
Large Carnivore: Pycnonemosaurus Nevesi
Large Herbivore: Maxakalisaurus Topai
Some are chill and peaceful. Others like Pycnonemosaurus are apex predators that will mess you up. Choose wisely when you’re bringing them back.
Prehistoric Plants
Four decorative plant species to fill out your dinosaur habitats: Cycad, Tempskya, Cooksonia, and Calamites. They look cool but don’t do much yet besides decorate. More uses coming in future updates.
Installation
You need experimental gameplay enabled. Download the .mcpack or .mcaddon file, tap it to import into Minecraft, then activate it in your world settings.
