Trail Ruins are buried underground structures added in Minecraft 1.20 (Trails & Tales Update). They’re full of loot like armor trims and pottery sherds, but you have to dig around to find them. If you want to spawn near one without spending hours searching, here are some solid seeds to try.
How to Use These Seeds
When you create a new Java Edition 1.20 world, paste the seed number into the “Seed” field. You’ll spawn in a location with Trail Ruins nearby (usually within a short walk or travel). The coordinates listed are exact spots where you can find the structures.
Trail Ruins Seed #1: 4014
Seed: 4014
You spawn in a Jungle with ocelots and parrots hanging around. Head East to find a Jungle Temple at coordinates 240, 75, 16.
Below ground you’ll find Lush Caves, especially a big one at 24, 77, 64. You can find axolotls here, plus the usual cave mobs.
The Trail Ruins is at coordinates 157, 71, 273. You’ll see Suspicious Gravel sticking up above the surface, which makes it easy to find. Grab a brush and start digging to find the armor trim and pottery sherds inside.
What’s here: Jungle Temple, Lush Caves, Trail Ruins, axolotls, ocelots, parrots
Trail Ruins Seed #2: 1000
Seed: 1000
You spawn in a Snowy Taiga with wolves and snowy foxes nearby. There are a few Amethyst Geodes underground close by (one’s at -41, 9, -103). If you head South you’ll find a massive Frozen Ocean with polar bears.
The Trail Ruins is at coordinates -236, 120, -308. Look for gravel and red terracotta poking out above ground, then dig down to the central tower. You’ll find rooms with armor trim and pottery sherds scattered around.
What’s here: Snowy Taiga, Amethyst Geode, Frozen Ocean, Trail Ruins, wolves, polar bears
Version Compatibility
These seeds are for Java Edition 1.20 and later. Trail Ruins were added in the Trails & Tales Update, so they won’t appear in earlier versions. If you’re playing on a different version, upgrade your world or create a new one.
Bedrock Edition has different seed generation, so these exact seeds may not produce the same structures.
What to Bring to Trail Ruins
You’ll want a brush (crafted from copper ingots and feathers) to excavate Suspicious Gravel and Suspicious Sand. Bring a pickaxe for breaking regular blocks, a shovel for dirt and sand, and some torches so you don’t get lost. Food and armor help too.
