Honey blocks are one of the most useful blocks in Minecraft. They slow down your fall speed dramatically, which saves you when you’re dropping from high up. They’re also solid for decorating and building.
Finding Honey Block in Creative Mode
If you’re in creative mode, you can grab a honey block straight from your inventory. The location shifts depending on your version:
- Java Edition 1.15-1.16.2: Decoration Blocks
- Java Edition 1.17-1.19: Redstone
- Java Edition 1.19.3-1.19.4: Natural Blocks or Redstone Blocks
How to Craft a Honey Block in Survival Mode
What You Need
You’ll need 4 honey bottles. You can get these from bee nests or by crafting them yourself.
Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table
Open the 3×3 crafting grid on your crafting table.
Step 2: Place the Honey Bottles
Put your 4 honey bottles in the crafting grid like this:
- Top-left square: 1 honey bottle
- Top-middle square: 1 honey bottle
- Bottom-left square: 1 honey bottle
- Bottom-middle square: 1 honey bottle
They form a 2×2 block in the left side of the grid, leaving the right column empty.
Step 3: Move to Inventory
The honey block appears on the right side. Grab it and add it to your inventory. You’ll also get 4 empty bottles back.
Done. You’ve made a honey block.
