What is Craftable Spawners Mod

Craftable Spawners lets you craft mob spawners in survival mode. Normally you can only get spawners from dungeons or the creative menu, but this mod changes that. You can now craft spawners for any mob type with balanced recipes. Since spawners give infinite experience, the recipes are designed to be expensive enough that it’s not too easy.

Passive Animals

• Raw Porkchop for Pig spawner
• Raw Beef for Cow spawner
• Raw Chicken for Chicken spawner
• Wool for Sheep spawner
• Mushroom for Mooshroom spawner
• Bone for Wolf spawner
• Ink Sack for Squid spawner
• Slimeball for Slime spawner
• Milk Bucket for Ocelot spawner
• Wooden Hoe for Villager spawner (single type)
• Snowball for Snow Golem spawner
• Iron Block for Iron Golem spawner
• Stone for Bat spawner

Hostile Mobs

• Arrow for Skeleton spawner
• Spider Eye for Spider spawner
• String for Cave Spider spawner
• Rotten Flesh for Zombie spawner
• Gunpowder for Creeper spawner
• Diamond for Ender Dragon spawner (works in the End only)
• Ender Pearl for Enderman spawner
• Raw Fish for Silverfish spawner
• Glass Bottle for Witch spawner

Nether Mobs

• Gold Nugget for Zombie Pigman spawner
• Blaze Rod for Blaze spawner
• Ghast Tear for Ghast spawner

• Soul Sand for Wither spawner (the Wither skull doesn’t work properly)

How to Craft a Spawner

First, craft the spawner core in your crafting table. Then surround the core with iron bars like this:

M = Moss Stone, R = Iron Ingot, X = the item for your mob type (see lists above)

Spawner Rules and Behavior

• Hostile mobs need darkness to spawn (this includes Blazes)
• Passive animals need grass blocks
• Sheep spawners produce random wool colors, which can’t be changed
• Villager spawners always produce the default brown robed villager
• Squids need water to spawn
• Slimes need the right depth and chunk type
• Wither can spawn in the Overworld from this spawner
• Skeleton spawners in the Nether will spawn Wither Skeletons instead

Installation Guide

1. Download and install Minecraft Forge for your version
2. Download the Craftable Spawners mod file
3. Open your .minecraft folder and go to the mods subfolder (create it if it doesn’t exist)
4. Drop the downloaded .jar file into the mods folder
5. Launch the game and enjoy

Important Info

• Works with other mods that add spawners, no conflicts
• Maps built with this mod don’t need the mod installed to work
• Spawners created with this mod are legit items, no special mod content added
• The actual spawner block wasn’t modified, so other spawner mods still work fine
• What you craft is a Spawner Builder item that creates the real spawner block

Pro tip: Install Just Enough Items if you use Forge, or Roughly Enough Items if you use Fabric. These let you see all the crafting recipes in game.
