What is Mo’ Chickens Mod?

Mo’ Chickens adds a whole flock of new chicken types to Minecraft 1.7.10. Each chicken is unique, hostile by default, and lays a specific item when tamed. Got a diamond chicken? It drops diamonds. Coal chicken? Coal. You get the idea.

The chickens start out aggressive and won’t cooperate until you tame them using the item they drop. Once tamed, they follow you when you’re holding the block form of their resource (like a coal block for coal chickens). They only start producing loot after they’re tamed, so there’s actually a reason to go through the effort.

Chicken Types and Drops

Resource Chickens

Coal Chicken – Lays coal. Dark feathers.

Iron Chicken – Lays iron. Off-white colored.

Gold Chicken – Lays gold. Bright yellow.

Lapis Chicken – Lays lapis. Dark blue color.

Redstone Chicken – Lays redstone dust.

Diamond Chicken – Lays diamonds. The main prize.

Emerald Chicken – Lays emeralds. Green and valuable.

Giant Chicken – Lays glowstone dust with glowstone at the center.
