The Metal Detector Data Pack for Minecraft 1.18.1 and 1.17.1 adds a practical tool for ore hunting. Instead of strip mining for hours, you can craft a Metal Detector and let it do the heavy lifting. Hold it in your hand and it scans for ores buried around you. No more guessing where to dig.

What’s Included

Metal Detector Item

A handheld detector that finds ores in the blocks around you. Just hold it and it tells you when ore is nearby. You can detect ores several blocks deep, so you’ll know when to start digging down.

Easy Crafting Recipe

Drop these items on the ground to craft one Metal Detector:

• 5 Redstone Dust
• 4 Iron Ingots
• 3 Quartz
• 1 Observer
• 1 Daylight Detector

Gather the materials and drop them together. The detector will assemble itself.

How to Install

Important: This data pack requires the included resource pack to work properly. You need both files.

1. Download both the Data Pack and Resource Pack files below
2. Follow the complete installation guide for data packs
3. Place the files in your world’s datapacks and resource packs folders
4. Load your world and the detector is ready to use
