How to Make Polished Deepslate Stairs

Learn how to craft polished deepslate stairs in Minecraft. Easy step-by-step guide with recipes for Java and Bedrock editions.

What Are Polished Deepslate Stairs?

Polished deepslate stairs are a building block that came with the Caves & Cliffs update. They’re great for creating sleek, modern-looking structures with that deep stone vibe. The crafting recipe makes 4 stairs at a time, so you can build pretty fast once you’ve got the materials.

What You Need

To craft polished deepslate stairs, you’ll need:

  • 6 polished deepslate blocks

That’s it. If you need to get polished deepslate, you can craft it from regular deepslate in the same way (just use 4 deepslate instead of 6).

How to Craft Polished Deepslate Stairs

Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table

Get to a crafting table and open it up. You’ll see the 3×3 crafting grid.

Step 2: Place the Polished Deepslate

Here’s the recipe pattern:

  • Top row: 1 polished deepslate in the first slot
  • Middle row: 1 polished deepslate in the first slot, 1 in the second slot
  • Bottom row: Fill all three slots with polished deepslate

Place them exactly like this and you’ll get 4 polished deepslate stairs on the right side of the crafting grid.

Step 3: Grab Your Stairs

Click on the stairs in the result box and throw them in your inventory. You’re done.

Finding It in Creative Mode

If you’re in creative mode and don’t want to craft, just grab polished deepslate stairs from the Building Blocks tab. Works in Minecraft 1.17 and up.
