Will this work with other mods?

Vertically Stacked Dimensions should work fine with most other mods. Some mods that heavily modify world generation or dimension behavior might conflict. Check the mod comments for known issues before installing with a large modpack.

Can I add more dimensions to the stack?

Yes. When you create a new world, click the Stacked Dimensions button to configure which dimensions you want stacked and in what order. You can include modded dimensions too.

Do I need both Forge and Fabric?

No. This mod is for Forge only for version 1.12.2. Install either Forge or Fabric, not both.

What happens if I fall through a portal block?

You'll move to the dimension above or below. The mod mimics solid blocks on the other side so you won't just drop infinitely. It's designed to feel like moving through layers.

Can I disable this mod for existing worlds?

The mod only affects world generation when you create a new world with it enabled. Removing the mod from existing worlds won't break them, but you'll lose the portal functionality.

Vertically Stacked Dimensions Mod takes Minecraft’s dimension system and turns it on its head by stacking dimensions on top of each other instead of keeping them separate. Instead of teleporting instantly to the Nether or End, you can now travel between dimensions through portals embedded in the world itself, making the journey feel more natural and part of your world.

The mod replaces what would normally be bedrock with special portal blocks that let you move up or down to connected dimensions. By default it stacks the Overworld on top of the Nether, but you can configure it to include other dimensions too, including modded ones.

How It Works

Portal blocks appear at the top and bottom layers of each stacked dimension. They’re indestructible like bedrock and let you and other entities pass through to the next dimension. The mod mimics solid blocks on both sides of the portal so you don’t immediately fall back when traveling upward. You can even place and break blocks through the portal to the other dimension.
