Sanguis Mod 1.19.2, 1.18.2 – Bleeding Mechanic

Sanguis Mod adds a bleeding mechanic from Soulsborne games with specialized weapons and equipment. Download for Forge 1.19.2 and 1.18.2.

Sanguis Mod brings Soulsborne-style bleeding to Minecraft. It adds a whole weapon and armor system built around applying bleeding effects to enemies. When bleeding reaches level 5, it deals true damage that ignores armor, potions, and shields. You can watch how badly an enemy is bleeding by counting the particles around it.

Most regular mobs can bleed. Undead mobs and golems are immune. When bleeding triggers, you’ll hear a distinct sound effect. If you get hit with bleeding yourself, you’ll see a screen overlay warning you.

How Bleeding Works

Each hit applies bleeding and raises its level by 1 (sometimes 2). Different weapons and enchantments apply it at different rates. The higher the bleeding level, the more particles you see. At level 5, the real damage kicks in and deals health reduction that can’t be blocked or reduced.

You’ll need Unbound Blood to craft anything from this mod. Get it by mixing crimson lily, blaze powder, nether wart, and iron nugget at a crafting table. Or trade an ender pearl and ghast tear to a cleric. Crimson lily drops from aggressive mobs standing on blocks with small flowers.

Weapons and Equipment

Melee Weapons

Sanguis adds several weapons that all apply bleeding on hit. They’re not overpowered on their own, but the bleeding stacking is where the real damage comes from. Mix different weapons to find your playstyle.

Special Items

Eye of Sanguinius is a second-hand item that curses you with hunger, but attacking bleeding enemies restores your hunger and heals you at the same time. Keep attacking to stay alive.

Chant of Blood is a book you hold in your offhand. It summons ghostly versions of mobs you’ve killed. These shades attack nearby enemies and defend you if someone tries to hit you. They won’t attack other players.

Dr. Faust is a hat that makes enemies bleed faster. But since it’s a demonic artifact, it also makes you bleed. Be careful when you’re wearing it.

Enchantments

Rupture is a weapon enchantment that increases your chance to apply bleeding. Higher levels mean better odds.

Bloodlust is a curse you can put on weapons. It guarantees you apply bleeding with every hit, and the enemy applies it back to you too. High risk, high reward.

Bleed enchants chestplates and gives you a 50% chance to negate incoming damage by applying bleeding to yourself instead. Risky defensive option.
