No. Escape from Purgatory is a data pack, not a mod. It works in vanilla Minecraft without Forge, Fabric, or any other mod loader. Just drop it in your datapacks folder.

Can I use this data pack on a multiplayer server?

Yes. Data packs work on multiplayer servers. Upload the data pack to your server's world datapacks folder and restart the server.

What if I get stuck or don't understand what to do?

The data pack includes instruction books that explain the gameplay. Look for them when you spawn. They contain both guides and lore. Read them carefully.

What It Adds

Purgatory Dimension

You start your game trapped in a completely new dimension. This isn’t the Overworld or the Nether. It’s its own place with its own challenges. You need to gather resources, keep yourself alive, and figure out the path to escape.

Survival Gameplay

This isn’t a casual walk through a custom world. You actually have to survive. Manage your hunger, avoid dangers, and progress through the data pack’s challenges. The instruction books will guide you on what to do and unlock new features as you play.

Lore and Story

The data pack includes lore through the instruction books. These aren’t just gameplay guides. They tell you the story of Purgatory and why you’re there.

How to Install

Data packs are different from mods. You don’t need Forge or Fabric to use them. Just follow the steps below:

Download the data pack file for your Minecraft version (see links below)
Go to your world folder: .minecraft/saves/[YourWorldName]
Open or create the datapacks folder inside that world folder
Drop the downloaded .zip file into the datapacks folder
Load the world in Minecraft. The data pack will activate automatically
