Enhanced Night Vision Pack 1.20.6

Enhanced Night Vision is a texture pack that makes caves and dark areas much easier to see in. It adjusts lighting in shadow areas so you can navigate without relying on full-bright packs or mods that ruin vanilla visuals. The pack also adds subtle day/night cycles underground, so caves darken a bit when it’s nighttime above.

What It Does

Night mining can be annoying. You either flood your caves with torches, use a full-bright pack and lose all atmosphere, or squint at your monitor. This pack splits the difference. It keeps Minecraft’s lighting system intact while making dark areas legible. You’ll spot mobs coming, find ores easier, and actually see the cave decorations you built.

Better Dark Area Visibility

Shadows are lightened just enough to see what’s in front of you. No full-bright washing everything out. Caves still look like caves.

Light Source Enhancement

Torches, lanterns, and other light blocks show up clearer. Makes it easier to spot where you’ve already lit up and where you still need to place torches.

Subtle Night Darkening

When it’s nighttime on the surface, cave lighting gets slightly darker and takes on a faint blue tint. Gives you a sense of time passing even when underground.

Installation

1. Download the resource pack from the link below
2. Go to your Minecraft folder and open the resourcepacks folder
3. Place the downloaded file in that folder. Don’t extract it
4. Open Minecraft and go to Options > Resource Packs
5. Find Enhanced Night Vision in the available list and click the arrow to activate it
6. Click Done

Requirements

OptiFine is recommended for the best results, especially if you want custom sky and connected textures to work properly. The pack works without it, but OptiFine gives you more visual features.
