Manhunt vs. (Speedrunner vs. Assassin) Data Pack 1.15-1.16

Free Manhunt vs. data pack adds a 3-team minigame where runners escape to The End while hunters chase them down. Works on Minecraft 1.15-1.16.

Manhunt vs. (Speedrunner vs. Assassin) Data Pack Overview

Manhunt vs. is a multiplayer data pack that turns vanilla Minecraft into an intense 3-team minigame. One player is the Runner trying to reach The End dimension while Hunters do everything they can to stop them. Helpers support the Runner with potions and position info. It’s basically hide and seek with actual consequences.

How It Works

The Four Teams

Runner
The one being hunted. You need to reach The End dimension before the Hunters catch you. You get a bonus chest with gear, a heartbeat sound that gets louder as Hunters close in, and a progress bar so everyone knows how close you are to winning. In Easy mode, you also get resistance and 8 ender pearls.

Hunters
Your job is to track down and kill the Runner before they escape. You get a compass that points to the Runner’s location every 2 seconds while holding it (though holding it makes you slow). The compass also tells you if the Runner is in the Nether by spitting out gibberish. Max players is unlimited but 1-2 is recommended for a fair fight.

Helpers
You win if the Runner wins. You get 4 splash potions (2 Invisibility, 1 Strength, 1 Regeneration) and a Nether Star that shows your coordinates. The Runner can’t hold your potions, so you have to be careful when giving them out. You can also see the Runner’s position in real time.

Spectators
Watch from the sky and enjoy the chaos.

Game Modes

Easy
Runner just needs to reach The End. Runners get resistance, ender pearls, and the Hunters are slowed by the compass. Good for casual games.

Normal
Runner needs to reach The End. Balanced difficulty with no extra advantages.

Hard
Runner has to actually defeat the Ender Dragon to win. Way harder.

Pro
Runner must defeat the Ender Dragon, and Hunters get resistance. This is brutal.

What Happens During Gameplay

When the countdown hits zero, the Runner and Helpers get Speed 3 for a full minute while all Hunters are slowed down. This gives the Runner a fighting chance to get away.

The Runner gets a progress bar that everyone can see. Helpers can always see the Runner’s location. Hunters need to hold the compass to track them, which slows them down (except in Pro mode). When Helpers or Hunters die, they respawn far away from the Runner so they can’t immediately swarm them again.

When someone wins, the chat announces it to everyone. Then you can start a new game.

Important Rules

  • Everyone needs to be op’d on the server
  • You must have at least one Runner and one Hunter
  • Pick your difficulty before starting
  • Keep Inventory is on by default (can be turned off)
  • Everyone stays together at spawn until the countdown ends. Don’t move early
  • Make sure there’s at least one grass block at coordinates (0x, ~y, 0z)
  • Using a fresh world for each game is recommended
