F.O.G Shader Overview
F.O.G Shader is a resource pack that adds dense, atmospheric fog to Minecraft Bedrock Edition. It’s designed to create a spooky, dark atmosphere perfect for horror maps, scary minigames, and apocalyptic builds. The shader removes vibrant colors and gives everything an eerie, fog-covered look.
Features
Multiple Engine Support
This shader works with Minecraft’s newer Render Dragon engine. If you’re playing an older version, it also includes legacy HLSL and GLSL code. Just extract the .zip file and pick the version that works for your Minecraft build.
Fog Effects
The core feature is heavily increased fog that makes everything feel claustrophobic and ominous. Your render distance controls how much fog appears, so lower settings = more fog. Perfect for building tension in horror projects.
Great for Creative Projects
Ideal for horror minigames, scary events, apocalyptic maps, and any build that needs a dark, atmospheric vibe. The desaturated look and fog combine to make your world feel abandoned.

F.O.G Shader works on Minecraft Bedrock Edition across these platforms:
- Windows 10/11
- Android
- iOS
- Xbox
- PlayStation 5
Works with Minecraft versions 1.18 and 1.19.
Installation
Installation is straightforward:
- Download the .mcpack file below
- Open it to import into Minecraft
- Enable it in your world settings or apply it globally
- Done. No mods or special setup needed
This is a resource pack, not an addon, so you can use it on servers and in multiplayer without any compatibility issues.
Settings Tips
- Set brightness to 0 in-game for the full effect (or whatever looks good to you)
- Lower render distance = more visible fog
- Toggle clouds on or off in Video settings if you want different cloud appearance
- If the shader looks weird on Render Dragon, try resetting Screen Safe Area to default
