What is Cut Sandstone?
Cut sandstone is a decorative building block in Minecraft that gives you a smoother, more finished look than regular sandstone. It has that clean, chiseled appearance that works great for desert builds or modern architecture. You can craft it easily from regular sandstone, and it’s been in the game since version 1.13.
Where to Find Cut Sandstone in Creative Mode
In Creative Mode, you’ll find cut sandstone in the Building Blocks tab. It’s available in Java Edition versions 1.13 through 1.19.4 and beyond.
How to Craft Cut Sandstone
What You Need
To make cut sandstone, you’ll need 4 blocks of sandstone. That’s it. Simple crafting.
Step 1: Open Your Crafting Table
Place a crafting table down and right-click it to open the 3×3 crafting grid.
Step 2: Add the Sandstone Blocks
Grab your sandstone and place 4 blocks in a 2×2 square pattern in the crafting grid. Put one sandstone in the top-left, one in the top-middle, one in the middle-left, and one in the middle-middle. This arrangement creates one cut sandstone block.
Step 3: Grab Your Result
The cut sandstone will appear in the result box on the right. Click it to grab your new block and add it to your inventory.

Building Tips
Cut sandstone pairs well with regular sandstone, chiseled sandstone, and sandstone stairs. Mix and match them to create interesting patterns and textures. The clean lines of cut sandstone make it ideal for desert temples, modern builds, and structured designs.
