What is Yttrium?

Yttrium is one of the element blocks that Minecraft added for chemistry and educational play. The element has the symbol Y and atomic number 39. You can stack it up to 64, just like most other blocks. It’s useful if you’re doing chemistry experiments or building with the full periodic table of elements.

In Education Edition, Yttrium shows up in the creative inventory. Where exactly depends on your version.

Pocket Edition and Other Platforms

To get Yttrium on PE, Windows 10, Xbox One, or Switch, enable the education edition features in your world settings. When you do this, Minecraft creates a copy of your world that starts with [EDU] so your original stays safe. Then you can find Yttrium in the creative inventory.

Item ID and Technical Details

If you’re using commands or need the technical info, here’s what you need to know.

Minecraft ID Data Value Max Stack Versions
element_39 0 64 PE 1.4.0 – 1.20.0

Give Command

In Minecraft PE versions 1.12.0 through 1.20.0, use this command to give yourself Yttrium:

/give @p element_39 1 0

Change the last number (0) to how many stacks you want. The command gives you one Yttrium block. To get 64, change it to /give @p element_39 64 0.

Installation and Setup

Yttrium is built into Minecraft Education Edition, so you don’t need to install anything there. On other platforms, you just need to toggle the education edition option in your world settings. The game warns you that this might affect your world, which is why it creates a copy. Check the [EDU] world to find your Yttrium.

Compatibility

Yttrium works fine with most mods. Some chemistry-related mods might conflict with the element blocks, so check the mod description to be safe. If you’re mixing multiple mods, test them in a creative world first to make sure nothing breaks.
