Yes Steve Model Mod replaces the vanilla player model with Bedrock Edition models and animations. You get better looking characters, smooth animations, and the ability to customize player models server-wide.
What This Mod Does
This mod is built for servers. It automatically syncs custom player models to everyone who joins, and gives server admins full control over who can use what models.
Key Features
- Auto-sync models to players: When someone joins, the server sends them the custom models automatically. No manual setup needed.
- Encrypted model files: Models are sent as encrypted binary files, so players can’t just extract and steal your custom models.
- Permissions system: Control exactly which players can use which models with simple OP commands.
- Default models included: Comes with improved Steve and Alex models that work with player skins.
- Easy customization: Drop your model files, textures, and animations into a folder. Use the reload command. That’s it. No config files to edit.
How to Use It
For Players
After joining a server (wait 10+ seconds for the models to sync), press Alt + Y to open the model selector GUI. From there you can:
- Click model buttons to switch between available models. A red icon means you don’t have permission to use it.
- Use left/right buttons to switch between different textures for models that have them.
- Toggle between all models, just your authorized models, and vanilla models (Steve and Alex).
For Server Admins
All commands start with /ysm and require OP level 2.
/ysm model reload– Reload all model files and push them to every player/ysm auth all– Give a player access to all models/ysm auth clear– Remove all model permissions from a player/ysm auth add [modelid]– Authorize one specific model for a player/ysm auth remove [modelid]– Remove one model permission
The game provides autocomplete for model IDs and player names, so you don’t need to memorize them.
