Windswept Mod expands snowy and forest areas with new plants, food sources, blocks, and gear. If you spend time in cold biomes or taiga forests, this mod gives you way more reasons to build and explore there.
Plants and Flowers
Holly Trees
New trees that spawn in groves and old growth taiga. Holly leaves are prickly and hurt to touch. You get full wood sets from them just like any other tree, plus they drop holly berries when broken.
Holly Berries and Potion of Prickling
Holly berries can’t be eaten, but you can brew them into the Potion of Prickling. This gives you the thorns effect, same as the enchantment. You can stack multiple thorns sources together too.
Wild Berries
Found growing on snow and grass in high altitude areas. You can craft them into wild berry juice for a quick regen potion early game. Also come as compressed berry bowls to save inventory space.
Snowy Sprouts
Small decorative plants that grow in patches on snow blocks in snowy biomes. Collect them with shears and place them on grass or dirt too. You’ll often find them near wild berries.
Roses
Five new rose colors: red, white, yellow, blue, and pink. Red and yellow spawn in taiga biomes, while blue, white, and pink are in snowy biomes. The wither rose got a matching retexture.
Nightshades
Rare glowing flowers that spawn in large patches under trees. They look mysterious and glow in the dark.
Bluebells
Small flowers found in patches in dark oak forests. Nice for decoration.
Foxgloves
Spawn in any taiga biome. Foxes sometimes pick them up and carry them around, which is cute.
New Blocks
Snow and Ice Variants
Snow bricks craft from snow blocks. Both packed ice and blue ice now have brick variants for more building options in winter builds.
Ice Sheets
Thin ice sheets act like glass panes but break when hit by arrows or other projectiles. Useful for windows that aren’t totally indestructible.
Gold Doors and Trapdoors
Work just like iron doors and trapdoors but made with gold instead. Same recipes, same mechanics.
Polished Deepslate Options
Pressure plates and buttons crafted from polished deepslate, straightforward recipes.
Food and Cooking
Goat Meat and Goat Stew
Goats now drop goat meat. Craft it into goat stew for solid food value in survival.
Mutton Pie
Craft mutton into pie form. You can also find these in taiga village chests.
Berry Bowls
Combine 3 berries into one bowl that stacks to 64. You get the same nutrition as three individual berries but in one slot.
Gear and Tools
Snow Boots
Crafted from leather and iron. Walk faster on any snowy block and cross powder snow without sinking. Fully dyeable to match your armor. The mod uses a block tag, so you can add your own blocks to the snow list if you want.
Wooden Buckets
Cheap buckets with limited durability. They have 24 uses before breaking and take damage when you empty them. Perfect for early game fluid transport. There’s no wooden lava bucket (obviously).
Curse of Slipping
A curse that appears on boots. Makes you slip on all blocks like they’re ice and damages the boots while doing it. You probably don’t want this one.
Decoration
Banner Patterns
Two new patterns: Snow Charge and Snow Golem.
Music Discs
Two new discs drop as rare loot. Skeletons kill chilleds and you get the “Snow” disc. Skeletons kill drowneds and you get the “Rain” disc.
Chilled Mobs
Zombies in snowy biomes spawn as chilleds instead. They drop frozen flesh, which you can smelt into leather. Way better for leather farming than waiting for cows. Regular zombies, husks, and drowneds turn into chilleds if left in powder snow long enough. The mod uses entity tags so you can add your own mobs to this list.
