What is Utility Chests?

Utility Chests adds five special chest types to your inventory management toolbox. Each one does something different, from syncing storage across the world to automatically smelting ores. It’s a solid quality-of-life mod if you want less tedious storage and resource processing.

The 5 Chest Types

1. Networked Chest

Think of it like an Ender Chest on steroids. You can create multiple separate networks (unlimited), so you can organize different item types across different “channels.” Each network has its own storage pool.

2. Tools Chest

Toss your damaged tools and armor in here and they’ll slowly repair themselves over time. Works at random intervals. The mod’s planned to add fuel or gems later for more control.

3. Ores Chest

Ores smelt automatically inside this chest over time, and you get better results than throwing them in a furnace. Also planned for fuel/gem requirements in future updates.

4. Grabber Chest

This one’s an item vacuum. Anything nearby gets pulled in. If the chest is full, items just drop underneath. Useful for farms and grinding setups.

5. Smelter Chest

A hybrid furnace and chest. Items smelt 1 to 1 inside without needing separate fuel slots. Like the others, fuel/gem support is planned.

How to Install

1. Download and install Minecraft Forge
2. Download the Utility Chests Mod file for your Minecraft version
3. Put the mod zip file into your /.minecraft/mods folder. Don’t unzip it.
4. Done. Launch the game.

Version & Compatibility

Utility Chests works with Forge. It’s generally compatible with other mods, but check the mod description for any known conflicts. Works best on Minecraft 1.6.4 and 1.5.2.
